Divided into six sections, this short DVD explores positive bystander intervention when unwanted sexual advances are made. The film explores ways to intervene using as examples, distraction—interrupting the interaction between the two with a conversation, using direct action—by telling it like it is, especially if it is a friend; and referring to an authority or get help from bystanders. Whether or not you are able to change the outcome, the film illustrates that by stepping in we are helping to change the way people think about their role in preventing sexual assault. It also points out that if you suspect that someone you know has been sexually assaulted, there are steps you can take to support that person and show you care. Bystander Intervention illustrates that we have both personal and community responsibilities. This means not only taking care of yourself, but also taking care of others. We are all part of a larger community. When you notice something going on that does not look right, DO SOMETHING!
